Training run by New Canaan and Wilton CERT. Class location alternates between the two towns.
The 6 sessions of the basic training cover:
Introduction to Disaster Preparedness
Disaster Medical Operations
Incident Command, Team Organization
Terrorism & Sheltering in Place
Fire Suppression & Light Search and Rescue
Before Starting the Course
Participants will need to complete a registration form and a Hold Harmless form. Completed forms can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or can be mailed to the New Canaan Police Station.
Upon Completion of the Course
Participants who successfully complete the full curriculum have the opportunity to volunteer as members of New Canaan CERT. Members of New Canaan CERT are provided with a backpack, basic disaster gear, a Town Identification Card, and can participate in additional training sessions.
