NEW CANAAN COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT)
New classes will be announced in the fall
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program trains and equips citizens to be prepared to help themselves and their neighbors in the event of a disaster, crisis or common emergency and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, search and rescue and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations.
In addition, CERT is often requested by first responder agencies to assist with pre-planned events providing an essential resource for traffic control and pedestrian safety among many other services.
