Fall 2020 Schedule
The Covid-19 pandemic has taken its toll on our traditional in-person class settings. Working in conjunction with 8 other Fairfield County towns, we are developing an on-line streaming course option for this fall.
Individuals take the CERT course for two reasons: (1) to learn about emergency preparedness and specific topics such as first aid, CPR, and sheltering-in-place….to better prepare themselves and their families for dealing with disasters; (2) to join New Canaan’s Community Emergency Response Team to assist neighbors and the town’s first responders, Police, Fire and EMS, in dealing with both emergencies, like hurricanes, and planned events such as the July 4th fireworks and the May Fair.
We are offering the Basic Training on 2 different schedules, both consisting of 8 sessions over 4 weeks:
Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 PM to 9 PM, starting Tuesday October 20, ending Thursday November 12
Or
Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9 AM to 11 AM, starting Saturday October 24, ending Sunday November 15.
Additional sessions will be scheduled to complete hands-on skills training when it is safe to do so.
